hankful for 28 years of marriage (as of yesterday) . . . .
I don’t take the 28 years lightly. We’ve loved and lived through a lot – and not liked each other through a lot too. Statistics say that 75% or more of marriages do not make it after the loss of a child. We’ve buried two. It’s not been easy. But the rewards are beginning to shine through – as our children are choosing Christian spouses, continuing to choose God and a grandbaby to continue life going, due in the fall. We are laughing more at some of the dumb things we fought over – and learning new ways to set up boundaries and walk away from tensions. I think we forgive a little quicker too! Yes, it’s still work – but work worth enduring.
Yes I am thankful for 28 years of marriage – there’s much to treasure – and much to look forward to!
What a blessing! I have been married for nearly 14 years, and I am impressed by those who make it so long! I can’t wait to get there! 🙂
Beautiful post….our anniversary was yesterday as well….20 years! Congrats to you!
We just celebrated 29 years of marriage this past weekend. It is work but I’ve always thought the joy and playful times – well, it just didn’t seem like work for the most part. Thank you for sharing from your heart and I pray you have many more together 🙂
