Book Review: You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream by Holly Gerth

“Dreams are unpredictable.  We don’t know where they’ll take us, what will happen along the way, or where we’ll wind up in the end. t’s been a great privilege to read another one of Holly Gerth’s books, this one, You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream: Opening the Door to All God Has for You.  I really appreciate Holly’s way of writing, in a very personal way, as though you are sitting down with her in a corner of a coffee shoppe and sharing your hearts with each other.  This up-beat, positive book not only reminds women that they are made by God for a specific purpose, which is what Holly encourages her readers to pursue as their “God-Sized Dream”.  

Probably one of my favorite chapters in You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream “A Guide to Overcoming Your Fear”.  I appreciate her clarifying that fear itself is not a sin . . . but a gift.  It is something we will feel and how God allows us to feel it and use it for our better to face it and grow from it.  

You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream is an ideal book for personal, small group or just with a friend.  Each chapter has a “Conclusion” summary and then a “Go Deeper Guide” with discussion questions.  At the every end of each chapter is a “Dream It. Do It.” which encourages a small step discussed in that chapter to move forward with finding the God-Sized dream in your life.  

I really enjoyed reading this book, and look forward to going through it again, in more depth.
