Outside my window…
almost barren trees, signaling winter is around the corner

I am thinking …
of  the song, Healing Rain

I am thankful that . . .
for a very full house yesterday – 15 of us!  All the kids and our grandbaby were home
to celebrate two birthdays and an anniversary! 

From the learning rooms..
books still scattered about from schooling this morning 

In the kitchen . . .
leftover cake from yesterday,
sugar cookies just out of the oven

I am wearing…
jeans and a cozy top

I am creating…
little stuffed owls for grandbaby’s mobile

I am reading…
to my younger children (& they LOVE this book!)
The Jesus Storybook Bible: Every Story Whispers His Name

I am hoping…
and praying for two of our kids and their spouses
as they are going through purchasing their first homes

I am looking forward to . . . 
to seeing my daddy soon 

I am learning . . . 
how I am thankful that our children have been protected from
public school – so hating some of the things my 2 children
are having to see/indure in the charter school,
this week being “horror” week in English class.  UGH.

Around the House . . . 
Hubby dozing off on couch,
kids asleep,
fire glowing in the pellet stove

One of my favorite things…
a new journal ~ blank pages

I am pondering …
if I should answer the giraffe riddle.
(I ended up with a giraffe on my FB page later!)

A few plans for the rest of the week:
helping my daughter wash her cat!

A peek into my day…
schooling, laundry, lunch, more schooling, more laundry,
older kids getting from school, taking two kids to dentist ,
coffee, grocery shopping, dinner, visiting with a friend and sharing our lives,
computer time, bedtime

cornfield golden from the low sun,
trees leaves turning oranges, reds and yellows

I am thinking …
I am finally ready to put the summer clothes away
and get out all the fall/winter clothes.

I am thankful that . . .
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
His mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.”

From the learning rooms..
two daughter working on vocabulary words;
the others are done.

In the kitchen . . .
All cleaned up for the day; crockpot out as a reminder
for tomorrow’s chicken dinner to go in

I am wearing…
comfortable clothes

I am creating…
Christmas gifts
and Thanksgiving decorations

I am reading…

I am hoping…
for less pain to sleep better tonight

babysitting for my granddaughter several times this week,
while my daughter does several photo shoots

more about boundaries

The house quieting down for the day,
candle  burning with fall scents.

the smell of a newborn baby

on a letter I am writing & rewriting

did I mention I will be babysitting for my granddaughter???!!!

A peek into my day…
schooling, laundry, lunch, more schooling, more laundry,
older kids getting home from school, snuggling with my grandbaby,
coffee, grocery shopping, dinner, talking with a friend outside in the
crisp autumn air,  computer time, reminding kids it’s bedtime

the grass is finally beginning to green

of all that I need to get done this week – a little overwhelming!

Jessica’s continued healing and rarely any post-op night traumas anymore.

From the learning rooms…
I hear the sigh from children who were spoiled having last week off and would rather be outside again.

From the kitchen…
Christian music playing.

I am wearing…
blue capris & a blue top

I am creating…
Thank You cards to give for a Bridal Shower

I am going…
with my husband to his echo heart stress test and
praying this all turns out well.

I am reading…

and praying for answers to my husband’s health concerns we’ve had for past two weeks.

spoons clunking in cereal bowls.

things that need to be decluttered (again) and spring cleaning that needs to be done.

is hearing and seeing my children sing and praise God.

doctor visits and medical testing for hubby, homeschooling, cleaning, laundry, AWANA, making whole wheat bread from scratch, finishing a wedding shower gift

the ground is purely white from the freshly fallen snow

I am thinking…
I should change the baby’s diaper – but I have a headache!

I am thankful for…
that Jessica’s MRI results came out “stable”
and she will not need neck surgery for awhile.

From the learning rooms…
I hear soft counting over mathbooks, paper being torn from notebooks
and children asking how to spell words.

From the kitchen…
is cinnamon oatmeal in the crockpot.

I am wearing…
my pj’s

I am creating…
empty red envelopes to send to President Obama.

I am going…
to take two of my daughters to the dentist today.

I am reading…

I am hoping...
to at least see the sun peek out for a moment.

I am hearing…
children doing schoolwork.

are books, books and more books.

One of my favorite things…
is hearing and seeing my children sing and praise God.

that we need to get our taxes together for our Tuesday appointment with our tax accountant.

I am thankful for…
a generous, anonymous person who gave us a gift.

From the learning rooms…

From the kitchen…
is our local Christian radio station playing

I am wearing…
my pj’s

I am creating…
valentine cards with my kids.

I am going…
to take my daughter to her MRI appointment today,
which was canceled two weeks ago.

I am reading…
Deadline by Randy Alcorn

I am hoping...
and praying that Jessica will not have anxiety or pain
during her 45 minute long MRI this morning
and better than expected results.

I am hearing…
quietness – a rarity.

Around the house…
are stacks of newspapers and coupons
yet to have gone through and sorted.

One of my favorite things…
is watching older siblings love and care for the younger ones.

Jessica’s MRI, getting our taxes done,
making Valentine cards with the kids.

Outside my window…
the temperature is -1 degree – ohhh, so cold!

I am thinking…
that one month from today, my baby boy will be two years old and am wondering where the time went.

I am thankful for…
caring doctors and nurses, personal and professional, in my life.

From the learning rooms…
my daughter is cutting out coupons and comparing to ads,
finding the best deals for the week and learning how to save money.

From the kitchen…
I hear the clatter of dishes being washed, dried and being put away.

I am wearing…
warm blue fleece pants and top

I am creating…
with God’s help, disciples for Jesus.

I am going…
to a Chris Tomlin concert this week.
Make-A-Wish which gave our daughter four tickets.
We are excited!

I am reading…
and reviewing Questions from Little Hearts
which I am giving away a copy of on my blog this week!

I am hoping...
and praying that Jessica will not have anxiety or pain
during her hour long MRI Tuesday morning
and better than expected results.

I am hearing…
the news on TV, rustling of newspapers and dishes clattering.

Around the house…
are those same endless projects and crafts to be finished.

One of my favorite things…
is watching my older children interacting,
laughing & caring for each other.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
planning meals, sewing more diapers, getting some organization done.

writing late night before to post for today

Outside my window…
crispy white snow sparkles on the lawn and trees

I am thinking…
of the almost 25,000 babies that were aborted in just my state of Michigan alone (that is 200 aborted babies for every 1000 live births) in 2007 and am very concerned about FOCA passing.

I am thankful for…
our children having a healthy winter with no serious colds or flus.

From the learning rooms…
oldest son is working on his biology college class.

From the kitchen…
is a sink full of dishes from our leftover deluxe chips and cheese
and our yummy homemade guacamole bowl that was wiped clean.

I am wearing…
brown skirt, burgundy top with soft brown sweater . . .
still in my Sunday clothes

I am creating…
memories.

I am going…
to continue praying for our new president.

I am reading…
and reviewing several books which I will be giving away on my blog,
starting this week

I am hoping...
and praying that Jessica has less pain
and anxiety when going to sleep.

I am hearing…
the falling blocks from the Jenga game.

Around the house…
there are endless projects and crafts to be finished.

One of my favorite things…
is the innocence of little ones, such as my baby this past week, trying to share his pacifier with me while I was trying to nap on the couch.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
writing a blog post remembering our stillborn daughter who died on the 25th anniversary of Roe vs Wade
and remembering the aborted babies.

Outside my window…
snow is once again dancing in the sky

I am thinking…
that four years ago at this time our grief was so deep
and that it’s been replaced at the same time this year with
JOY and renewed LIFE.

I am thankful for…
a day in the House of the Lord,
after missing going to church for almost a month
because of our daughter’s open heart surgery.

From the learning rooms…
books are scattered about; older siblings are helping younger ones.

From the kitchen…
comes the warm smell of freshly baked bread

I am wearing…
blue snowman jumper

I am creating…
memory bracelets

I am going…
to take Jessica to our family doctor for follow-up appointment

I am reading…
Heaven by Randy Alcorn

I am hoping...
and praying that Jessica continues to have less pain

I am hearing…
the click of keyboards & muffled music from earphones

Around the house…
there is lots of catch-up with laundry
& cleaning that needs to be done.

One of my favorite things…
is hearing my children sing – from the littlest making up his own words, to the oldest ones singing praises.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
is finding our “normal” and getting back into our school schedule.
