Five Minute Friday: When TRUTH Hurts

Truth

Start . . .

truth

. . . sometimes it really, really hurts to very deep depths. Sometimes truth is very unexpected.  Sometimes, other’s truth is not our own truth.  Sometimes someone older, wiser, who has been walking with God a long time, we expect will know the truth yet are blinded by their own pains and pleasing others before doing what may be right.  What may seem truth in one person’s eyes, may not seem to be in another’s.

We are told that time will heal and the real truth will be exposed, that apologies were truth but then, time goes back too many years and pains resurface and hearts are crushed and it’s in a fog we search for the truth, again.

We question and plead with God to make sense of it and ask why. Only He knows the truth and how He can make beauty out of ashes.  And sometimes we have to start all over again, with forgiveness, and praying for God to

Guide me in Your truth and teach me,
for You are God my Savior,
and my hope is in You all day long.
Psalm 25:5

  1. Hi Loni! Always a pleasure to meet another Christian blogger, and I am doubly happy to meet another Nutella lover🙂

Wow, you really put a spotlight on the conundrum of truth. That’s why I said we should use our truth wisely. I especially liked the point that what’s truth to a person is not the truth to another. And does truth change? Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t. No wonder we all get confused and mess up.

    Very thoughtful post, Loni.
    So great to be here!

PS I’m a Nana too. Don’t you just love it?

  2. I find comfort in that God will reveal our truths – to those who didn’t believe them:) I think sometimes that’s the hardest part – is when people don’t believe the truth in us! – and yes – forgiving – that’s part of it, isn’t it! I appreciate where you took “truth” today!

  3. Thanks for sharing, Loni. I especially love your graphics – the one in the post with the verse from John 8 (love that verse) and also the one that says “Beloved” with all the things we’re not, but feel we are crossed off.

Love these lines: “We question and plead with God to make sense of it and ask why. Only He knows the truth and how He can make beauty out of ashes. And sometimes we have to start all over again, with forgiveness, . . .” Thanks for the reminder that God can make beauty out of ashes!

    Stopping by from FMF!
