but she didn’t count on landing in Last Chance.”
Welcome to Last Chance by Cathleen Armstrong
ith nothing to do but stop, because of the red warning light on in her car, Lainie Davis finds herself in the tiny town of Last Chance, in New Mexico. Though running away from her past, she becomes very intrigued with the people of Last Chance, who are overly kind and go more than the extra mile to help her out. Among the various complexities, Lainie begins to make a life for herself, yet scared her past is going to catch up with her. One of my favorite parts of this fiction story, Welcome to Last Chance, is when Lainie joins the choir and then has to sing a solo. The first time she is to perform, she cannot remember the words to the song. Yet, it was not her last chance to sing again, and it’s a beautiful part of the story.
Welcome to Last Chance is a great mixture of love, suspense, and about both good and bad relationships. Most of all, God’s truth’s are woven throughout the story line. I really enjoyed the book, and look forward to reading Book 2 in this series, A Place to Call Home.
