y daughter marries today. This will be a short, pre-written post to go up automatically today. As I think of the excitement of the day, the wonder of their years ahead as they look forward to the rest of their lives together, “they” will not make it happen. It will be their trust in God, keeping Him as the center first of their own lives, then their marriage. And really, their hope is this,
Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. Hebrews 6:17-19
At times we think things will be best with a better marriage, changed or different spouse, bigger house, new clothes, more money, different church, etc. But, it’s God. He’s our hope to change us and change what we need changed. He’s our anchor, to secure us and hold us where He wants us. Sometimes the storms can be so rough, but if He is our Anchor, we will not be blown over or tossed into waters that overtake us.
Might the Father be saying,
Let Me be your security,
just believe Me.“
