In ‘Other’ Words: Fully Covered & Protected

He will cover you with His feathers.
He will shelter you with His wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
Psalm 91:4 (NLT)

I

think of how often when I had young babies,  and would take them outside and tuck them in my coat or jacket, wrapping it around them, so they would not gasp for breath in the windy winter weather, get wet from rain or snow or block the bright sun that makes them frightful.

That is how I am seeing this verse.  Jesus pulls around us, protecting us, from the elements of the world around us.  We can still peek out and see what is going on, and catch gasps of the chaos, but we are still protected if we stay in the shelter of His care.

We have chickens and they also have feathers covering their eggs if we do not get them quick enough.  They want to sit on them, keeping them warm and protecting them.  Just as God talks of keeping His eye on the sparrow, He does with us.

I’m a little late in posting this for “Tuesday’s”  In ‘Other’ Words, so it’s not too late for you to join in either!   Read through Psalm 91. Possibly share another verse in this chapter really touches your heart.  Then link up with us at SunflowerFaith.
