Irritating Words

Without a doubt, it is seeing and hearing “OMG”.  I hate seeing it written that way – even if someone does mean “goodness” for the “G” and I certainly hate hearing it.  It’s the one thing we nip immediately with our children, if they use God’s name in vain. And using the “OMG” initials, has made it slip into our every day language on Facebook, texting and saying it this way . . . an “easier” way of using God’s name in vain.  We even try to get our children not to say “gosh” or “Gee” because it sounds so close to God’s names and can easily be misunderstood for His name.  God knows the intentions of people’s words . . . but I guess we think it best to help our kids in not saying it so it does not become habit.
