“We deny Jesus every time we disregard His truth
and put ourselves down.
That hurts us.
We deny Him every time we fail to see our value in Him.
That hurts us.
We deny Him every time we continue to hang on to our self-condemning thoughts and lies.
That hurts us too.
And then, it’s as if Jesus turns and looks straight at us
with His eyes of love and compassion,
and something dawns on us.
We have, in a sense, denied our Lord Jesus,
and I wonder if that hurts Him.”

or this week’s IOW quote above, I want to keep this short. I’d like to encourage you to see yourself through the quote, and if God is knocking on your heart. Several weeks ago I did a book review on Shame Lifter: Replacing Your Fears and Tears with Forgiveness, Truth, and Hope, and the words from it still linger, and other things from even other readings point me back to things from this book and what I need to work on. I am sure Shame Lifter: Replacing Your Fears and Tears with Forgiveness, Truth, and Hope is going to be my top read for this year.
I ‘d like to encourage you to think on that quote above . . . see Jesus’ love . . . see how much He cares. . . see where you are not only hurting Jesus, but yourself. I just came across this verse that again, knocked on my heart, and seemed to coordinate with this verse.
“The thief comes only to steal
and kill and destroy
I came that they may have life,
and have it abundantly.”
What is being stolen from you? Is it the priceless value God has of you by putting yourself down? Do you believe things that hurt your heart to the core by a person, rather than what God says and wants of you? Do you see His love and compassion? How are you hurting Him AND yourself?
Instead of sharing more personally and leading the thoughts on this quote this week , I encourage you to see how God is working with you personally. Then, will you share? I invite you to share about the above quote on your blog. Link back to this blog post and also leave your link below in the McLinky so we can visit you!
